Ngalmangiyi (Long-neck Turtle)

$300

Ngalmangiyi, known in English as either Long-neck Turtle or Snake-neck Turtle, is a freshwater turtle that lives in rivers, billabongs and wetlands in the Top End of Australia.

Daluk (Aboriginal Women) hunt for them on the floodplains by poking a long metal pole or crowbar into the ground. When they hear it thud against a shell they know there is Ngalmangiyi there and they can dig him up.
