Nawarlah is the brown river stingray, bininj (Aboriginal) people eat the wings of the stingray after being cooked over hot coals or boiled. It is a prominent food source for coastal groups but also found in major rivers inland. They hunted using spears in the shallow waters, it's sharp barb can be used as a spear tip.
