Payment to artists

Marrawuddi Art & Culture is owned and operated by Mirarr Traditional Owners through their representative organisation Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation (GAC). GAC is not for profit, aboriginal corporation, in which all proceeds are used to fund Gundjeihmi’s dynamic local initiatives (i.e. Djidbidjidbi College, Djurrubu Rangers), as well as investing money back into helping deliver weekly bush trips for artists, purchasing of art supplies (e.g. paint, sandpaper, glue). Marrawuddi Art & Culture is a member of the Indigenous Art Code which relays all transparent, fair and ethical dealing between art centre and artist.

Indigenous Art Code

The purpose of the Code is to establish standards for dealings between Dealers and Artists to ensure:

  • Fair and ethical trade in Artwork;
  • Transparency in the process of promotion and sale of Artwork; and
  • That disputes arising under the Code are dealt with efficiently and fairly.

Currency

All prices are in Australian Dollars.

Postage and delivery

We post domestic and internationally. All postage within Australia is free. Postage internationally is priced pending size, weight and destination, you will be issued a quote after placing an order. We make every effort to ensure your packages are posted as soon as possible, however, given our location, items can sometimes take up to four weeks to be received, hence certain times cannot be guaranteed. Any customers purchasing our stock online will receive an email with tracking via Australia Post or TOLL (pending size) attached.

All artworks are covered with insurance.

Returns

We appreciate and value our customers and hope you are happy with any purchase you have received. If you are however unhappy and wish to return your purchase, we will fully refund you or accept exchanges, minus freight costs and must be within one week of receiving your purchase. Items returned must be in its original condition with any accompanying documentation received for your accepted return to apply.

Duties and taxes

When shipping works overseas, the purchaser is liable for any duties or taxes payable specific to the country of import.

Provenance

Marrawuddi Art & Culture guarantees all artwork sold online and in-store are authentic and created by local indigenous artists from Kakadu and the wider West Arnhem region. All artworks are attached with Certificate’s of Authenticity, story relating to the artwork and information about the artist.
